Media giant Joy FM has partnered with African Fashion Fund (AFF) to send one Ghanaian fashion designer to France to partake in the 2018 Paris Fashion Week.
The lucky designer would have to be the winner of a challenge being run by the duo between September 27 and October 3, 2018
Anyone interested in the challenge is required to post a picture of his or her works and a 45-second video using the hashtag; #TailoredAfrica2018 and #AfricanFashionFund on Facebook and Instagram.
The winner would be chosen at the end of the competition and announced on Joy FM as well as its social media handles.
Explaining the reason for the challenge, AFF Chief Executive Officer, Roberta Annan said Ghana has many great fashion designers who need an international exposure to get their works recognised and appreciated.
“I think there’s great talent here. There’s so much talent here, we have vibrant colours…but we do not see our designers outside,” she said.
The winning designer would have the opportunity to participate in the French President Emmanuel Macron’s ‘Change Now Summit’ as well as this year’s Paris Fashion Week.
But settling on Joy FM out of the many media houses in Ghana for the juicy partnership was not a difficult job, Roberta Annan added.
“We have been doing things outside Ghana [but] this is our first time doing this and so we wanted to be affiliated with an authentic brand like The Multimedia Group; Joy FM to be able to select and do it properly so it is a fair and equitable process,” the business mogul said.
