The Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) Managing Director has resigned from the outfit, ending a six year career with the state media.
Ken Ashigbe in a memo circulated to the staff said he has tendered his resignation to the appointing authority, the National Media Commission (NMC).
“I have followed your concern about the rumours of my resignation…The truth is that, I have tendered my resignation to my employer, the NMC,” he said.
But NMC is yet to respond to Mr Ashigbey’s letter, Brakopowers.com has gathered.
The Daily Graphic boss, who was instrumental in the media coalition against illegal mining, is uncomfortable there has not been any communication from the NMC.
“I believe courtesy demands that I receive the feedback before I announce it,” he said.
Brakopowers.com sources close to Mr Ashigbey have revealed he is heading to the Telecom Chambers as its boss.
NMC’s approval of Mr Ashigbey’s resignation brings to an end a six-year career at the state-owned media house.
