Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings says it is near impossible for his own party – the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unseat the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections.
“These people think they can unseat this man [President Akufo-Addo] in 2020…NPP?…No,” he said.
He believes the current government has earned the support of Ghanaians because it has been able to fulfill some of its 2016 campaign promises.
But he said the next election would be a walkover for the NPP if it does more to bring about development.
“If they do well enough…And so far it doesn’t look too bad,” the former revolutionary leader said.
The former President made the remarks during a visit to his office by EIB boss, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, known as Bola Ray.
The Starr FM boss went to officially invite Mr Rawlings to his book launch.
