Slain soldier, Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was laid to perpetual rest at a state burial held at the State House in Accra on Friday.
The event was attended by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and some senior government officials, relatives and strangers alike.
The soldier was slayed by some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region when he was mistaken for an armed robber. This was after he was seen with a weapon. He was clobbered, stoned and burnt after he had fallen unconscious.
He died on May 29 at 10am, the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has said.
